The steam output of the boiler must be a certain temperature.

Otherwise, problems such as damage to turbine blades, and so the cycle efficiency will decrease.

For this purpose, between primary and secondary super heater is a device called Desuperheater.

In general, the task of reducing the steam temperature in January is super.

In thermal power plants there is set parameter for steam temperature. E.g. 540degree for a 500MW plant. To maintain this tempat boiler outlet a desuperheator is used which sprays water  at high pressure taken from TDBFP kicker stage. The water is sprayed in such calculated quantity by automated control valves so that we get the desired temperature.

This attemperator system is used for reheater(reheater spray station) and superheater(super heater spray station).
