Very difficult case. Identified as Pentacalia sp., Asteraceae (the identification looks doubtfull).
An important new host-plant for leaf-mining insects. Any suggestion/guess/help would be greatly appreciated.

Sure the leaf looks like V. rhytidophyllum (at most!), but that is classified in different botanical family and the natural distribution differs from South America. Maybe other species of the same genera, native to this region? Or you found exotic species on site. Nevertheless, not indisputable and very interesting!

thank you! There are few species of Viburnum L. in the Andean montane forests of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia (e.g. http://hasbrouck.asu.edu/neotrop/plantae/taxa/index.php?taxon=Viburnum ). As far as I know, the leaves of Viburnum are opposite, however, they do not look opposite in our photos (bad photography? poor specimen?).
Nevertheless, it worth to search more within Adoxaceae.

I think it is a genus of Asteraceae Tribe. Vernonieae.
Perhaps a species of Lepidaploa (Cass.) Cass.
