Dear Prof. @Karl Pfeifer, you seem to be very alive and I wish you good health and all the best!! Would be interested to read an article of yours, if it is understandable by an rather somple life scientist! Kind regards, Christian Meyer
I think that in my life I have many 'debt' to a lot of people that I can't pay it. From my family, mother, father, etc. And also to the science and technologies inventor that I can use their product with 'cheap price' if compare their effort, dedication, and altruism for welfare and better life of human being. We can get vaccination that protect ourselves from diseases without "make it" alone with very difficult procedure and much cost also spend a lot of time, we can use internet, smartphone easily without think it very hard how to make it, etc. So I think that in my life I have to become a good person, also can contribute to the others with my competencies and capabilities, effort to make my father and mother happy. So at the future they can RIP (Rest in Peace) when they already not live in our "now habitat (earth) anymore.
Life and death are in co-existence. In the natural world, old leaves wither and fall off from the branches of the tree so they new ones can sprout. A severely injured lion will wander off and die slowly on its own to prevent itself from being a burden on the pride. In the scientific realm of humanity we sometimes struggle in getting the right decision on who gets to live further and who should cease to exist whenever the proper resources (medicine, food, clean water, shelter, security, safety, etc.,) are scarce to serve all.
As long as we are alive we can strive to achieve what we want, help others also to do the same. Death is the final exit of this physical form and to be honoured and remembered after death would depend upon the number of good deeds we have done during our lifetime.
Even bad deeds of any person in their lifetime are remembered forever for many years after death because it will be inherited to their children automatically/ default.
For me, life is a small period in which we try to rebuild the land, achieve justice and serve human societies. Death is not the end, it is the beginning of eternal life.
“In my next life I want to live my life backwards. You start out dead and get that out of the way. Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get a gold watch and a party on your first day. You work for 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school. You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play. You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born. And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa-like conditions with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day and then Voila! You finish off as an orgasm!”
