My first publication as a first semester masters student was in a journal paper that I won't like to mention the name but within a week, the paper was accepted with no corrections. Fast forward to years later in the academics, I started suspecting that journal paper as being unreal. Are there truly fake journal publishers?

Often, of course, it's to do with making money. If you can get a big enough customer base-including libraries-you fill your journal with any old crap.

There are a lot of fake journals who publishes articles with one weeks. Without any review or correction they just publish only for money. Again, there are many fake journals who mention high impact factor (?) which is not real at all. Researchers must check the journal list and impact factor before publishing article. List of Clarivate Analytics / Thomson Reuters can be checked.
