Quite simply put, chlorophyll reflects both yellow and green light. If it evolved on Earth why on Earth should it reflect yellow light, after all the Sun emits yellow light. So you would expect chlorophyll to have evolved to absorb that yellow light. Indeed some plants on this planet have evolved a strategy to capture this yellow light, by producing pigments (separate to chlorophyll itself). You can see this in autumn when the chloroplast dies we can often see these separate yellow and reddish pigments both of which reflect and transmit respectively yellow light onto the chlorophyll itself.

The corollary is that chlorophyll probably evolved on a red dwarf solar system, the commonest type of solar system, in the Universe. And a system where life needed to take full advantage of the dim light that the red dwarf emitted. The second corollary is that life itself probably did not evolve on Earth.
