I'm interesting, I am in the process of finishing the writing of my master's thesis in mathematical modeling and scientific computing (at the African Center of Excellence for Information and Communication Technologies bases in Cameroon) on the derivation from a kinetic model, the mathematical and numerical analysis of a two-species mixture model with non-local diffusion. Chemotaxis is the movement of certain microorganisms in response to a chemical stimulus: these microorganisms will move to areas of high food concentrations or, on the contrary, will flee harmful substances such as phenol in some cases. However, in response to this external signal, some flagellated bacteria will perform a walking and tumbling motion depending on the coordination of the motors controlling their flagellum. Here we will model the aggregation of cells on their chemo-attractant, for that, we will use two scales of observations: the kinetic approach and the macroscopic approach. After this, we will notice that there is no continuum between these two approaches (kinetic approach and macroscopic approach): each makes it possible to represent a different phenomenon but despite this difference, it is sometimes possible to establish an analytical link between these two approaches in order to deduce the collective dynamics from the individual dynamics or to combine the advantage of these two approaches (macroscopic approach provides an adequate mathematical framework in which the solutions can be provided). We speak of the derivation of a macroscopic model from a microscopic model or from a kinetic model. This notion was first introduced by David Hilbert. After this part we will analyze mathematically and numerically the model at the macroscopic scale that we will have obtained. This model is a non-local reaction-convection-diffusion equation modeling the density of a cell population coupled to a non-local parabolic partial differential equation modeling the concentration of the chemo-attractant.
But at the same time I am doing a master's degree in mathematical science at AIMS Ghana(African Institute for Mathematical Sciences-Ghana) where I plan to embark on random modeling applied to telecommunication as a memory project.
