I've already done outdoor UAV experiments. An UAV that presents a good GPS is a good initial point. But for this choice, you must to consider other informations, for instance: What is the autonomy necessary for the accomplishment of the mission? What is the payload?

If the drone is used to make images (I'm guessing because of the topic "History of Photograohy"), I can recommend the use of 3DR Solo which presents good support for this type of application.
