how can i cure 11-hydroxyoxacycloheptadecan-2-one [also called 10-hydroxy,16-hexadecanolide]?

Is it convenient to replace or protect the hydroxyl group or is it possible to carry out a direct polymerization (eg ROP) without the functional group bothering me?

I know the simplest and safest way would be to get a cross-linked material, but that's not my goal.

have you already tried anything with hydroxy-substituted macrolides?
