Recent literature has highlighted the underrepresentation of women scholars in PA scholarship. I am interested to know if this trend is also the same in the Philippines. In our recent content analysis of journal articles in the Philippine Journal of Public Administration published from 1990-2019, slightly less authors are female. Does this, in a way, indicate that women are underrepresented in the Philippine PA scholarship?
Culturally, women are by nature are being discouraged in participating in long rigorous activities and mathematically oriented career. With PhD in PA, it expected to be more involving, time consuming and environmentally influenced, hence women may be disenfranchised though depends on the disruptions given to women in an environment
The presentations of women in positions of high standards are gradually improving because of culturally women were discourage to participate equally of their counterpart how with the recent literature studies shown that women are starting to filling up the historical imbalances and that won't be walk in the park it will take serious sound educational programs promote the participation of women especially the upcoming generations.
