Aged person with the earlier passing phase have viewed the life considering the base that with the passing days old age is to come before us & also to face the challenges of the invitation of this period .
For aged person it is no use to recall the glory of their life as it would not help them to draw a line of demarcation between the period passed & journey of their last phase.

I think some of the best resources regarding your questions, i think, are those which connect "place attachment" phenomenon with "place satisfaction" and "place loyalty". So, take a look at related papers by Ramkissoon or Yuskel or Ryan researches.
I would recommend, Lewicka Maria studies, Manzo, L and Devine-Wright. They have unmissable studies on the topic.
