Hello Margaret, the foundational book in this area of sociology is DiMaggio and Powell (1991) New Institutionalism in Organizational Analysis. From there many scholars have looked at organizational isomorphism and revised the original theory. I would recommend going on jstor.org and searching "isomorphism" in a handful of journals: American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, and Organization Science.
There is an enormous literature on isomorphic outcomes in fields of organizations. The classic article is DiMaggio & Powell in American Sociological Review 1983 or so. I discuss the issue at length with more references in my Institutional Change and Globalization (Princeton U. Press, 2004). This might help you get started.
I appreciate your intention to help with my study, however I have also been apprised of the isomorphic research in the business organization or organizational psychology parameters. My specific inquiry is related to not business, more social neuroscience oriented...truly...genetic, dna osmosis of a kind...structural psychology and genetics
