I have been trying to find a resource to identify the transistor structures (from an optical micrograph) of a delidded/decapsulated electronic device (e.g. Operational amplifier AD844 in attached image). I see papers in literature that identify some circuit elements on an optical micrograph OR that identify all circuit elements in a circuit schematic. But I would like to be able to identify the structures at any location on a device that I take a micrograph of.

Hi, yes there is. You can see in the picture the metal layers as well as the poly-silicon layer. Whenever you see three parallel metal lines you will have a bjt transistor. The greenish part will either be a resistor (long line) or a capacitor (rectangle). In the datasheet https://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/data-sheets/AD844.pdf at page 5 you have the metallization where you can identify the pins and at page 13 the simplified schematic(without resistors or capacitors). here http://docenti.ing.unipi.it/%7Ea008309/mat_stud/PSM/2022/Lecture_notes/ in the pdf, at page 54 you can get an idea of how the layout for a bjt looks like(not the same process though)
