I need some information about the sediment characteristics vs season to justify my research findings.

Definitely there must be studies and those who have already carried out specific studies on the matter will be able to help you with references.There will be variations in rainy/dry season on river/lagoon sediment characteristics. This variation depends on the shape/depth of river and the intensity of water flow. Also, the sediment characteristics will be influenced by the quantum of water flow which again influenced by the rain fall pattern, the characteristics of watershed , and the nature of river banks and lagoon characteristics . More details about the characteristics of the study area will be required to give any further suggestion.
I seem to remember that the portion of coarser sediments (as well as total volume) is higher when flow is higher (i.e. in the rainy season), whilst drier periods, when the flow is lower, it is mostly the tiny suspended particles that are transported as the velocity of the water is not sufficient for the coarser sediments to 'escape' from the riverbed, whilst there are also fewer being washed into the river.

Sediment discharge (SPM) is a function of streamflow (QR) and varies non-linearly with flow, i.e., SPM α QR^n, where n > 1. The n varies from season to season and so does the seasonal transport of the sediment. Rivers with large transport components have larger n and vice versa.
