Thanks for the responses. The OEG series look nice but it seems that it only records prefrontal, we're trying to get to full head coverage as much as possible. And the Rogue Resolutions seems nice to but by portable I mean it really needs to be able to fit in a car as well. Thats the draw to NIRSport in that the system fits in a bookbag.

Have you checked with these guys from Germany? They published a paper in 2014 about a wearable NIRS system.

The paper is "A wearable multi-channel fNIRS system for brain imaging in freely moving subjects"

I was just made aware of this question on Research gate, and I guess you maybe already have purchased a system. We have some experience with the NiRX sport system and and has used it both stacked in a backpack and on the desk. I have not any personal experience with parallell EEG and fNIRS measurements, but I was recently on a workshop where this was demonstrated and the systems functioned quite well. The EEG was not wireless, but motion artifacts can be combated in different ways. For fNIRS, the NiRX company has released a new sping-loaded grommets for the headcap, that will help keep the optodes in position.

You can by the NIRx Sport system in two configurations: Single or Tandem version. With the Tandem version you get twice the numbers of senders and receivers. Since we bought our tandem system, NIRx has released an upgraded system, consisting of more sensitive optodes and a more power to the LEDs.

Originally, we paid around 70 000 USD (excluding local taxes) two years ago, an upgraded system may be more expensive.

the NIRx NIRSport System comes with NIRS caps, that include 130 evenly distributed positions covering the whole head. That is, you can use it to record prefrontal activity plus motor activity plus parietal activity plus occipital activity plus temporal activity plus ...

And if you combine the NIRSport with Brain Products actiCAP active electrodes, you can use each and every position (of  the130 Channel Cap) for EEG or fNIRS. These both systems give you ultimate flexibility in combining EEG and fNIRS.

Thanks for all the answers. We ended up getting the NIRSport Tandem last year and has been working quite well thus far!  We never went through with the concurrent NIRS and EEG but hope to be doing that maybe in the future. We are however beginning to do concurrent NIRS and MRI with the support of the folks at NIRx.

I would like to ask you a question about the use of NIRSport.

Baseline correction of the raw data must be used in the nirsLAB which is the software equipped with the NIRSport before I got the OxyHb and DeoxyHb data.

I want to know whether the data of hemoglobin can be exported without baseline correction because I want to use other methods to preprocess data.

Hi Andrew, there are indeed more portable fNIRS, NIRS and NIRS+EEG systems out there. Artinis is specialized in making such systems, the most commonly used is the Brite system for measurement of hemodynamics using fNIRS:
