I want to know if there are any fatigue testing specially on samples with notch and also fatigue testing using non-conventional means to apply cyclic loads rather than regular tension/compression of the tensile sample.

Google has a lot of hits on any kind of materials with the terms you asked.
I am a dentist. There are papers which use the chevron notch test.
But I am not sure you are interested in human tooth testing.

Karl-Heinz Kunzelmann The methodology is what I'm interested. I we do this on metals but what I want to know is mainly how the data is interpreted if crack initiation is removed of the study.
