I need to run an IR spec for a liquid sample. I could:
1. Freeze the liquid and run a KBr compressed pellet spec as for solids
2. Use a drop of the neat liquid on the spectrophotometer crystal
3. Use NaCl plate sandwiching
Is there expected to be much difference between the spectra?

The method to be used to acquire an IR spectrum of a liquid strongly depends on its.viscosity.
1. I never ever heard about method you are denoting as "1".
2. if the liquid is rather viscous - that is that during the measurement of the spectrum - it will not flow down, forming a thickening - then any IR-optical crystal will be OK. BUT if viscosity is not high enough - then the resulting spectrum (because of thickness change) will have shifted and broadened peaks.
3. Thus - better is to use plates for sandwiching the liquid [in this case if the plates will be strongly parallel - you may face interference. To avoid interference - it is better to "destroy" parallelism - by using a very thin spacer at one side of the sandwich.

It depend on the a kind and required specification of spectrometer that you have.
