I want to conduct my dissertation research on Undergraduate instrumental music education majors' perceptions to exhibit and incorporate effective leadership traits and practices. I plan on obtaining qualitative data from experienced band director perspectives. I can not find any research like this in the music disciple research. I know it's important but since absence does not imply need, I need to find something. Nothing like it exists in any of the major music research.. i.e. Music Educators Journal, Journal of Research in Music Education...and 9 other publication sources. I've found thousands of exactly relatable theoretical formats (experienced perspectives for ability perceptions etc) in other subjects , especially math and science. Any help at establishing the importance for this research would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻.
