I am working on a project to increase administrative efficiency at universities. I would be most thankful for best practices at your university, which help to conserve faculty time for teaching, research and service. Likewise, if there are any poor practices (you would be willing to share) that waste time -- I would also be grateful.
You need to track credit hours by department so that they can understand how much revenue they are making and not only by enrollment or number of students.

Many tasks could be optimized here, simply by allowing a digital processing with a digital authentication. For most administrative tasks we still need a signature and because of that most forms are filled out on the computer, printed, signed, send via mail and then often enough digitalized again by the official in charge.
How much time would be saved by just logging in with your university account (that you have anyway), filling out the form digitally, and sending it...

Happy to see this initiative which we do not see at many places. I think, it is very important to identify first what type of 'administrative work' to be done by a clerk and what to be done by a faculty where he has to use his capability and experience. Many places do not really differentiate this and faculty loose a significant amount of time doing clerical work.

Faculty time should be spent on classroom teaching and related tasks, research works and community services. As much as possible, they should not be assigned to non-teaching and non-research related works. Non-teaching personnel should be hired to perform administrative and clerical duties.
