In many scientific sessions people (including advanced researchers!) use to highlight that taxonomists are 'endangered'. Thanks to Calicut based IAAT in India conserving the genetic diversity of Indian taxonomist and really inspiring budding taxonomists for furthering their research in taxonomy.

As long as Taxonomists do not remain engaged in purely descriptive pursuits they cannot be threatened. Besides pure Taxonomy, added concepts of Functional and Constructional Morphology can make one compete with those conducting "advanced Sciences". Innovating thinking coupled with modern software tools is the key to remain in competition with great Science.
