Are social media used for professional communications in your field? Which ones are most frequently used social media?
In my field, public health, public health agencies and professionals use YouTube, Face Book, Twitter, and other social media for communicating with community and other stakeholders, both for emergency and non-emergency communications (e.g. for health education and promotion).
We usually use a trusted academic platforms in our cooperation. I will present a workshop tomorrow at the Wasit university about this topic.

I use Facebook more frequently in my field and research interest. Also Google scholar and researchgate as well as u tubes.
Well , Prof Shah , I taught and barely used ppt (Chalk/marker and board ), only for the past 6 years or so I use RG/Quora for technical answering . I watch YouTube though (occasionally ) ...

RG is a social communication tool that we are currently using to "communicate only in scientific research
ResearchGate and Facebook provide best opportunity if properly used.
Definitely social media is used for professional communications. We have created WhatsApp group for our students through which we will share study materials, PPT etc. Students will send their leave request through WhatsApp.
Indeed Social Media is playing Vital Role in my Firld of Public Health Epidemiology and Quality Management. We are using 24 hourly LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, RG, Wechat others. It benefited us betond our Thoughts. Regards
Social networking tools are as varied as Facebook, Twitter, Wap Sap, Viper, Incostram, Telekram, and Kerritz. However, it is more useful for RG to exchange views, conduct scientific discussions and benefit from others' experiences by asking various research questions

Yes it's there! However, it's still limited! The advantages of using social media still not recognized well. Mostly, the local management still prefer paper work !!! If they adapted, they like to go both ways in the same time !!!

Social media are used in public health for many purposes, including health education, health promotion, and communication with community.
Social media has become the traffic for our professional communication whereby we may take recourse to Face Book , R G, LinkedIn , Guru . With this we may sometime receive an expert opinion which may help us in our programming plan
