Are scientists more or less open-minded about social issues?

We generally hear that scientists are more open-minded about social issues that non-scientists. Has there been any survey or quantification addressing this assumption?

The scientist especially the social scientist are open minded about social issues. The scientists are the personnel who have to develop the social aspect of the society. Just like in Philosophy idealist,Realist and Pragmatist have different approach and different school of thought even they are the students as the realist were the students of idealist as a student and teacher they have respect for each other but in concepts they give different approaches for learning.
