This is because I just picked interest in it and tried to look at related articles but some informations appear to be contradictory with different authors. Please I need current state of knowledge on this topic, OSLD is new in my country and not as popular as TLD.
OSLs have many advantages over TLDs including higher detection sensitivity (alternatively, they are higher z so therefore they exhibit greater photon energy dependence). Landauer Inc. successfully has been using OSLs for their monthy badges for many years now. If properly used, there really shouldn't be any issues with using them for your program.
OSL is a highly proven technology, and as David says, Landauer has an excellent track record providing passive dosimetric services. An additional benefit of OSL technology is that you can "re-read" the dose information because it is "non-destructive" (or much less destructive than TL). Pulsed OSL is also worth considering. Landauer has also come up with an excellent technique of distinguishing genuinely high personnel doses from either fraudulently or accidentally irradiated dosimeters.
We have been using OSL dosimetry for over 3 years now without any difference in annual mean effective doses. We have seen less dispersion in the values reported when compared with previous TLD based dosimetry though the company providing the service is the same. I concur with the other colleagues that responded before me to this question.

Yes, here is a link to the "google books" page for the book entitled Optically Stimulated Luminescence: Fundamentals and Applications By Eduardo G. Yukihara, Stephen W. S. McKeever. Basically, they place a perforated copper filter on an OSLD and the OSLD is imaged with a CCD. If it is irradiated in a static position, there will be large peaks in the open areas of the filter whereas there will be a smooth(ish) image due to change in the angle of irradiation when it is irradiated dynamically (i.e. a person moving around).

Our local hospitals (Missouri, US) had used OSLs for over a decade and one of the nicest parts about them is that they are not affected by being left in a car, washed and dried on a uniform, etc. However, the hospitals have all switched to TLDs in the last 2-3 years due to badging costs. For the University, which badges close to 500 people, the monthly cost was almost half. The sensitivity is not nearly as good and it is not as wearer friendly, but TLDs are definitely cheaper in our part of the world. In the overall scheme of things, if most of your wearers are in the minimal range, cost is probably a better deciding factor than sensitivity.

Your response is actually on point. This is the information i was looking for, 'the cost' of using OSLDs. If cost is a challenge for you in developed countries, i now see reasons why its not so popular on this part of the globe. Even TLDs that are relatively cheaper than OSLDs is still a challenge for most institutions in our part of the world.
