In these days new molecules of various pesticides are being recommended by the multi national companies to the farmers which are about 2-3 times costlier than earlier ones. Therefore, I want to know that Are new molecules of pesticides more effective than earlier recommended by research institutes?
I guess there isn't a single generate answer to this interesting question. Mainly because the effectiveness of any pesticide depends on several factors including but not limited to the active ingredients and mode of action of this pesticide in addition to the prevalence of pesticide resistance among the population of the targeted pest species! Therefore its recommended to evaluate the susceptibility and resistance of the pest you are trying to control using the old and new pesticides to figure out which one to use. Because companies and sellers will always try to promote their own products which may or may not be as effective as it claimed in the advertisements.
