in general such information is useful and should be provided for students and researchers at / on (internal/external) sources of any academic institution (College, Schools of / Faculty, University) acting in education, instruction and training of students (not only if they are supposed to voluntarily or commitedly publish scientific work). Needless to say that the Academic Management (fromPresident / Vice chancellor down to each of the Faculty staff) has to be behind such guidelines (such should be created if they don't exist still. IMHO such guidelines could be termed GoPubP or GoPuP= Good Publication Practices (the abbreviation GPP is used already for 'Good Pharmacy Practice') for the whole Academia at their institution(s).

This could help either against to be mousetrapped (by ignorance; whereby: "Ignorance is no excuse", since the matter - I guess - is and has been discussed and published for long! and sensitivity for the problem/matter nowadays should be high enough ) or, to withstand a temptation (for whichever reason!) to publish with predatory publishers.

As I see it, more and more academic institutions include and set up information on PREDATORY JOURNALs and PUBLISHERs into their web-pages and internal students information profiles /systems. ... and this is good news....what lacks for now - again not new - is MORE (specific) information about "predatory and fake conferences (and the organizers of such "events")".

So the initiative to speak to and hand over specific information regarding the Predatory & Fake Publishing issues to members / delegates of the EU/EC is not only a good way but needs to be intensified - at the same time the initiative (who ever is doing such) must be greatly acknowledged, recognized and appreciated.

The trend to make public and to release internal information on the

"PP-predatory publishing"-matter is not limited to Slovakian Institutions, but - starting some 4 years back and lasting as long as 2-3 years back - can be found at most websites of (West- & Eastern) European Universities (and - naturally - Universities abroad - globally).

In another RG-thread (cf.: https://www.researchgate.net/post/Would_it_be_a_good_initiative_to_constitute_a_collective_of_researchers_to_publicly_and_collectively_denounce_predatory_publishing) I already pointed out [cf. my answer 008] that some, if not many institutions (also University Libraries in Western Europe*) are informing and warning their clientele, users and readers (students as well as academic teachers and Librarians among themselves!) - also in Seminars, Tutorials and Conference presentations.

I thank you for your answer and this information.

I agree, as announced in several discussions, the Dolos list will soon contain a section mentioning the organizers of questionable conferences (even if they are not publishers of pseudoscientific journals). These organizers are indeed in the cracks of our net and we will very quickly solve the problem. Any researcher is free to report these organizers. My team will process the reports shortly.

I think that if researchers are actively informed about this problem by their institutions, predatory publishing will be considerably weakened.

For the moment, we do not observe a significant decline in activity of these publishers, but we will wait a year of Dolos list exercise to make our conclusions. It will be a big and expansive job that has already begun with the recording of the activity of the publishers and journals during the last two years.

The emergence of online academic publishing has altered incentives and opportunities for scientific stakeholders and publishers. These changes have yielded a variety of new economic and scientific niches, including journals with questionable peer review systems and business models. ‘Blacklists’ of ‘predatory’ publishers have emerged to identify and stigmatize illegitimate scientific publishers and journals.
