Based on the available literature anthropometric data of Indian workers are rarely considered for design of tractor for India. I feel one of the reason might be because of many tractor companies are collaboration with the foreign companies so they are still using Western country anthropometric data for design.
There is a researcher working with ergonomic evaluations of trator seats here in Brazil. I think he has made some research about cabins and controls also. You can get in touch with him and get more information:
Thanks Dr Danilo for your feed back. We are not talking on only tractor seat. Lot of work has been done in India also on tractor seat (one of them at IIT Kharagpur). In India manufacturers are using good tractor seats now.
I agree that anthropometric data from India is not well-represented in international datasets. However, I would make the point that global equipment manufacturers are generally not designing for regional markets. International Standards in the ISO 7250 family are being developed to specify global population ranges as well as specific regional variations. A manufacturer is faced with the design choice of building multiple versions, making critical machine elements appropriately adjustable, or designing for the extremes (making emergency exits large enough for the 99%tile). You do need good population data in the dataset. Even so, global equipment manufacture will try to accommodate the overall range rather specific regional variation.
There is a study about Anthropometry of male agricultural workers related to India. It is better that the manufacturer use this data for improving design of agricultural machinery in terms of ergonomic approach.
In Mexico there are no tractors designed not anthropomorphic data of the native population by the manufacturers actually design them with data from populations of the countries of origin of these companies, likewise there are no anthropomorphic data of the population of farmers that use
that good that India and Brazil there are studies that provide data for the farm tractor correct design
