The genus Hymenaea is today distributed in South- and Central America and Antilles, and also in the eastern Africa. Flowers of the genus is also found in the Miocene amber of Hispaniola and Mexico, but I do not know if also the pollen of this genus have been found in the fossil record, and where. Seems that the origin of the genus was in Africa.
Hymenaea sp. are regarded as the producer of Dominican and Mexican amber, and also African and Madascar copal. I can ask my palynologist colleague about the record of this genus in Africa, or anywhere.
