I am trying to optimize energy sharing among multiple microgrids without making network unstable i.e. avoid voltage collapse and avoid angular instability. I have two questions:

1) Whether angle or frequency stability constraint is applicable to a network comprising of multiple microgrids connected over distribution lines?

2) In case when we have limited or no generation reserve, how frequency stability can be achieved? Can we just shed or adjust load or do demand side management?

I would appreciate any comment or link to relevant literature.
