I am working on a project that aims at utilizing egg parasitoids (especially Trichogramma dendrolimi) as biocontrol agents against Dendrolimus pini in Germany. I found some publications about that but most were in Chinese (which I unfortunately do not speak) and most of them were from the 80s.
I found it somewhat difficult to find out whether egg parasitoidis were still utilized as biocontrol agents against this oder other Dendrolimus spec. in China or in any other country. It would be very helpful for me to know if this is the case. If not, I would like to understand why this programm was stopped or has failed. It would be also great to find some recent publications about this topic.

Trichograma is a very well known wasp used to control Dendrolima . It is still a biocontrol agent of choice. However, in a given population of Trichograma dendrolimi not all the individual can parasitize the eggs. Hence it is essential to clone the effective ones and then use which makes it expensive over other pesticides.
