There seems to be a growing mistrust among funding agencies to collaborate with academic institutions for their research projects as their primary partner. Research projects are concentrated on private research agencies and non-profit organizations with some consideration to academic affiliation. What could be the possible explanation?
The most funding goes to the institutions like IITs, NITs, Government College, State and Central Universities who have lot of money i.e. money goes towards money. The government (Central and State) have given permissions to start private institutions after fulfilling certain conditions which are common for both type of institutions (Govt. , Govt. funded and Private) but while proving funding for laboratories, research projects etc govt is discriminating govt and private institutions. Rather it should be exactly opposite. If govt. really interested to develop some good private institutions, they should support such institutions. 95% engineers are graduating from such private institutions helping in the nation building but they are totally neglected and we are paying attention towards only those 5% many of whom are not Indian citizens. It is serious issue like cast/creed discrimination. Govt. should give second thought to it and should do something for good private institutions.
