I have collected data for two group of learners; an experimental and a control group. Both groups were tested prior to the intervention and immediately after the intervention. The data is normally distributed and the sample size is the same for both groups. My question is what the appropriate statistical method I should apply. Is an independent t- test or one-way ANOVA appropriate to run the analysis?
Dear Mohammed,
I would just use two paired Student T tests (one for the control group, and one for the experimental group), that's the most easy way to analyse the data. It doesn't matter if sample size is equal between groups. Also check if your variance is not significantly different in both groups.

Thanks Peter and Elias for your answers. We normally use t-test for comparing two groups means. However, in my case I have two times (pre-posttest) for two groups and I want to see the improvement from time 1 to time 2. Is t-test appropriate to do that?
