Hello colleagues,

I am currently developing a narrative review integrated with neuro-fuzzy modeling to explore the immunoregulatory role of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), focusing on variables such as IL-10, SLEDAI, lactate, and MDSC subtypes (G-MDSCs and M-MDSCs).

I would like to ask the community:

  • What are the best practices for building an ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) model in this context?
  • Has anyone used tools like MATLAB, Python (e.g., scikit-fuzzy) or others to simulate relationships between inflammatory biomarkers and immunoregulatory cells?
  • Is it feasible to integrate both continuous and categorical clinical/laboratory variables in a single neuro-fuzzy system?
  • How can neuro-fuzzy models be validated in literature-based reviews (i.e., using secondary data)?

I’m open to suggestions, collaboration offers, and I can also share the main references I’m using (see attached).

Thanks in advance for your support
