Rockphosphate is applied as source of phosphorus in the field particularly in perennial crops. Let me know whether their application is benefitting the soil as given by P-fertilizers or method to be change to obtain better efficacy. Regards
Rock phosphate is natural source of organic fertilizer , a boon as P source in acidic soils to act as slow release P . The efficacy of rock phosphate depends on particle size , method of application ( ride versus furrow ) , moisture availability, texture ....so on
Organic farming is the fastest growing sector of the global economy. Organic phosphate fertilizer is environmentally and nutritionally superior to chemical fertilizers and can be used on a wide variety of crops and pastures.
Anoop ji thanks for good points but my view point is phosphate rock cannot be used as a fertiliser because it is insoluble but it can be used to make fertilisers.
Rock phosphate serves dual purpose , a slow release phosphorous source as most crunch nutrient and an effective ameliorant...besides comparatively cheaper...
