I have a technical grade sample of 2-Aminoanthraquinone and I need to purify it. Could anyone recommend the best solvent to purify the product by recrystallization?

This is no a problem at all. I mean as it is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohol, acetone you can disolve it in any one of solvents (MeOH, EtOH or acetone) and add somme few drops of water....I am sure you will get lot of Sexy cristals....If doesn't work, you can kill me.

You can use ethanol, if your compound is high solubility at room temperature , dissolve your compound in alcohol then add dry ether drop wise till become cloudy ( turbid solution) then leave it to form crystals. good luck
