I have never done a hydraulic testing in a lab, thus need a guideline to use to design a hydraulic testing flume for my research for testing of sediment movement in turbulent flow regime.
The flume must be:
1. Trapezoidal in cross-sectional shape
2. Adjustable bed
3. Adjustable side slopes
I am more interested in the setup, measuring equipment, as well as sensitive parameters in the testing?

Hi, the size of the flume depends on the discharge or flow rate to be tested. The length of flume is also important, especially if uniform flow is required. We use Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) for turbulent measurement. From our experience, financial budget is one of factors that control the setting up and implementation the research.
