In our laboratory, we measure TOC for simple organic compounds using Dichromate method and we get the r2 value is 0.989. For applying the same procedure to dye molecule we didn't get a linear value. Anyone suggest how to measure TOC spectrophotometrically.

Would dichromate work for TOC measurement? The oxidant would attack any organic and inorganic species. I believe this method is more appropriate for COD measurement.

i found some articles, Toc measurement using dichromate digestion in soil samples similar to that it is applicable to wastewater also, we reduce the time, concentration of dichromate solution and digestion temp, we get correct value for glucose and other simple organic compounds, when we apply this to complex structure we didnt get a correct value.
