A continuos GPS monitoring of an active landslide allowed us to detect centimetric displacements of its top. A re-cover of the previous position is systematically associated with rainfalls and precedes the remobilization of the landslide.

I suspect it is due to water soaking that eventually increases the load which leads to triggering the sliding (see the attached diagram. error bar +- 0,02 m). Has anyone made similar observations?
