I am really interested in simulation modelling, even if I am still on the first steps of finding the best programme for modelling gentrification. I had no idea about DINAMICA EGO but after searching a little on the web I found out this tutorial:

I don't know if it's helpful. The only thing for sure is that it works with scenarios and it's goal " is to develop tools and methods to be applied to a variety of studies of landscape dynamics and environmental modeling".

Maybe you misunderstood my question. I asked if anyone find useful to recreate the facilities DINAMICA EGO bring to researchers like us in another environment (here R from http://www.r-project.org).
