Could someone please help me with picking a question and also send me a few papers relating to ESG or Corporate Finance - Dividends? I am doing Masters in Finance and Investment.
I really am confused as what research question to pick and which is an Empirical Question as well and also if it has enough research behind it?

ESG/ FinTech is quite robust and in high demand if you have all it takes to research and earn my PhD in that specialisation. Other respondents, contributors and your academic supervisor can work with you on the requisite research questions
A very good empirical research topic is to study the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the profitability of major coporations. You can pick five to ten major firms in the UK or pick ten to twenty major international firms, collect profitability data from these firms, and run a few critical regression analysis to see how COVID-19 has impacted profitability.
