I have built a number of equations in WORD 2016 and I need to sequentially number them. The number of each equation should be at the right margin of the page (in parentheses) and the equation at the left margin. However, using tabs to transfer the number to the right margin, WORD automatically shifts equation to "Inline" (small characters) instead of "Display" (big, professional characters). Any suggestions for keeping the equation in "Display", while the equation number being at the right margin of the page?
Maybe click on the arrow on the lower RHS of the equation and then click 'change to display'?
Andrew Paul McKenzie Pegman unfortunately this does not work regarding the numbering. When you click on "change to display" then the equation number [(e.g. (1)] goes to the next line. If you try to keep the numbering in the same line with equation, then WORD automatically shifts equation to "Inline".
