If you like to trigger discussion on where technology is heading within a community, and how it can be abused, there are some really nice episodes in Black Mirror (Nosedive, The Waldo Moment, San Junipero,...). You have to be quite selective though, there are quite some non appropriate episodes as well. And they are without a doubt all quite futuristic.
The 'Numbers' proposal from above: it's a great series, but I'm not sure whether the Mathemagician-like superpowers will fit the audience and hence topic...
