I´m using the capital (assets) of livelihoods (social, financial, human, etc) to understand how rural people start business and manage them. So I would like to see if any author had something with that
An article on the livelihoods approach is at http://www.adb.org/publications/sustainable-livelihoods-approach. The key document on a project that used the approach to define and design multiple interventions, including the establishment of a community livelihood fund, is at http://www.adb.org/projects/documents/tonle-sap-sustainable-livelihoods-project-rrp. (Look for Appendix 4 therein.)
Rural livelihood is probably based on agriculture. Performance in agriculture is completely based on nature, so, it is very risky. Agriculturists are very good risk takers and bearers. Risk taking is the foremost quality of entrepreneurs. So, it is assumed that first entrepreneurship was started from agriculture. Then other theories.
What I understand from your question is to find relationship/s between resources and business entry. Regardless of resources, Entrepreneurship could work (Steven and Jarillo,,?1988). Entrepreneurial behavior itself is a resources which could assemble required resources both physical and human. However, context (in this case rural) is resource constrained and performance of the newly started firm may comparatively low.
Therefore it is best to understand the entrepreneurial process of rural enterprises and compare those with firms in a resourceful context (Urban context). Please see some of my studies appear in Research Gate which attempt to compare rural and urban entrepreneurship.
Rural livelihood depend on the economic environment of the place .Anyhow for the rural development if the entrepreneur find the resources for the development after reviewing the development of the place their demand requirement & also the study of market survey ,entrepreneur can certainly make the progressive development of the selected rural area .
Even though this been the lookout for the rural area ,they have certainly to make out their plan ,their study ,methods totally in line with professional management.
To me such attempt may certainly help for the development of the rural areas .
I perceive the relationship between the triangle entrepreneurship, livelihood and rural development as the capacity of a individual or a group of farmers to innovate their on- and off-farm practices and subsequently get better access to markets (commercialization). Since farming has an heterogeneous character, the phenomena related to this triangle are extremely diverse. See publication of Jaap Voeten (attached), with cases from Vietnam.
