I think soil-nailing on a slope with mixed materials (soils and rock) is bit challenging as drilling in weathered rock and grouting cost more.

Many open topics; e.g.:

- pull out testing;

- shearing behaviour;

- aging processes

- effective contribution to stability during settlement and slope movement (not rigid body);

- kinematic model of eventual movement and technological options for nailing;

- anchoring lenght versus anchored slope portions;

- modelling for optimisation (spacing, thickhness etc)

- anisotropic behaviour and structure of mixed formation versus orientation of drilled holes;

- scale effects;

and so on ...
