Dear Sabari,

the underlying principles of metabolic implants are not too different, they all require an energy source, a hermetic encapsulation and the like, Independent of whether they act as sensors or drug delivery system. The basic principles were recently outlined in a publication on an implantable glucose sensor system, see below.
