Background

I’m in the initial stages of planning an online experiment. I would like to get users to record their screens while undertaking a specific assigned task. After the screen recording is uploaded via a secure link, I would like to label various behaviours from the screen recordings, preferably with the assistance of a program that will automatically detect a set of defined actions (Clicked on X, Scrolled down, etc)

Question

Does anyone have any recommendations for software that can help code different behavioral data? I had a quick look online and there are many open source (eg BORIS) and paid options out there and so I was hoping to get some feedback from researchers who have experienced any of them. Of course, I don’t have a huge budget but happy to consider quality for the right price, so to speak.

Your feedback, no matter how smal, will be greatly appreciated so I can narrow the field.
