Does anyone know about software programs in whatever programming or scripting language that allows to generate PMU data? Better if the data are also encapsulated in a standard format like IEEE C-37.118
Hi Kishore. Many thanks for your answer. Right now, iPDC is the only open PMU simulator that I found. But unfortunately I've seen its development has stopped few years ago. I've run it on Ubuntu but I'm having some problems dealing with bugs.
Do you know of any community still working on the initial project? It would be really interesting to keep up the good work and also extend it (e.g. implementing PMU simulator in boards such as Arduino or most likely Raspberry Pi.
Hi Alesio, if I correctly understand what you are looking for, then this link might be of help to you. You will find links to download a simulator tool called PowerWorld Dynamic Studio PWDS (different from PowerWorld software) which is able to export transient stability data in C37.118 format and some dynamic power system simulation cases. The cases have predefined dynamic contingency scenarios which you can simulate using the PWDS. The simulator PWDS, acts like a server and can connect to any PMU data client capable of reading data in C37.118 format. I hope this helps. Also any feedback on it will be appreciated.
