I need to extract DNA of hundreds of soil samples for library preparation for Illumina Sequencing. In my lab people have been working with the DNeasy Power Soil Pro Kit (individual reactions). Now that I need to speed the process due to the amount of samples I am considering the DNeasy PowerSoil HTP 96 Kit. Any opinions on the recovery/yield of this kit?
Please let me know about your experiences, any advice is appreciated.

This is an update of my own question in case it is useful for other researchers.
I got the kit and then faced some limitations that you must consider before deciding on this product:
1) For the step of disruption with the TissueLyser II, the plate leaked despite placing the sealing film tight (even with a roller). To avoid leaking to happen and prevent well-to-well contamination I recommend decreasing the speed from 25 Hz (recommended in the Handbook) to 20 Hz.
2) Something it is not mentioned clearly in the handbook or product description is that if you do not have a specific type of centrifuge this kit won't work for you (see below centrifuge types). Later in the process, you need to mount the S-block together with the QIAamp 96 Plate. The assembled plates measure 13 cm x 8.5 cm x 60 cm and need a centrifuge bucket fitting this size. The centrifuges that can accommodate the 96 Plate/S-Block stack are:
- QIAGEN / Sigma centrifuge 4-16S or 4-16KS (with Plate Rotor 81031)
- Thermo Fisher / Heraeus X3 Series (with HIGHPlate6000 rotor)
- Beckman Coulter Allegra 25R (with rotor S5700) - 2 plate rotor, 6130xg
- Beckman Coulter Avanti J-25 & J-30I (with rotor JS-5.9) - 2 plate rotor, 5900xg
- Beckman Coulter Avanti J-E & J-26 XP (with rotor JS-5.3) - 4 plate rotor, 6870xg
So if you do not have one of these centrifuges at hand you may find yourself stuck in the middle of the process.
