Hello everyone, I am new here and going to start my PhD work in energy materials.
Could you suggest some interesting area in bound to PhD limit? such as meta-material, electro-active material so on.. with analytical view. Please, all kind of answers are appreciated.
Thank you, I will do that... I already proposed my interest on SC but my prof not recommended me to go on Solar cell, he told me to find some other interesting area :(
Lithium ion Batteries are still one of the main subjects of researches in the energy field. But it needs novel materials to increase capacity. one of these materials is Silicon nanotube, which is shown that can extraordinary effect on the specifications of conventional Li-ion batteries. but there was no self-assembled synthesis technique for this material until recently that a paper was published in Nano Letters Journal. Since this technique allows integration of Silicon nanotube on the Si wafer, it shows a great potential to be used extensively in this field. An interesting area of energy materials is to determine whether nanostructured materials can give a benefit (as Mohammad mentioned) and if yes, how much more efficient they can be. In order to quantify that, you need to create homogeneous nano-structuring (http://steiner.bss.phy.cam.ac.uk/people/copy_of_projects/synthesis-and-applications-of-gyroid-structured-functional-materials).
