I'm looking for validated and concise methods to model different adsorption isotherms for a gas mixture with water on SiO2 surfaces. Any data or any model would be extremely helpful.
Matthis, I would be very careful in reviewing data here, Silica comes in more forms with greatly varying surface areas, pore volumes, residual moisture and other parameters which will greatly affect adsorption capacity and hence the isotherms. I would more fully characterize the silica of interest first. If you are looking solely at a desiccant grade gel then it should be relatively straight forward. I would suggest referring to "The Chemistry of Silica" by Ralph K. Iler as an excellent reference. Viel Glueck!
"Gas mixture with water"? You probably mean the drying of gases with the use of highly hygroscopic substances. I think it is enough to use the Henry isotherm or Freundlich isotherm here.
