Except saying, that in even modes there is a open circuit and in odd modes there is a short circuit. Is there any book or literature that can be used for best understanding about even and odd modes.
Hi Alberto, that's not a free download right? Without violating copyright and with suitable disclaimer, is it possible for you to upload the pre-published version of the journal?
you're right, the paper is copyright protected. Unfortunately I can't share it.
Briefly:
For given symmetric circuit, you can divide the circuit along its symmetry plane.
Then use symmetric excitations and symmetric load:
If you connect both part (the part you can see and the specular part removed from the circuit) the same voltage: in a symmetric circuit no current flows, for this reason it is equivalent to close your circuit with an open circuit at the cutting plane.
If you excite with the opposite voltage, you will have a short circuit since the current will be maximum.
I have attached a short presentation to describe the approach.
