Hello,

I used to edit my Sanger sequencing chromatograms with the software Sequencher (Gene Codes Corporation). This software is very easy to use, since it allows you to directly align the forward and reverse strands and it directly creates a consensus strand which you can edit following both chromatograms, and copy and paste the resulting sequence. The problem is you need to pay for using it and I don't have access to it anymore.

I'm looking for good free alternatives to this software. I tried BioEdit and Ugene. However, as far as I know, you can't align both strands the way I described, making the editing process far more difficult and time-consuming.

Any good free alternative to Sequencher for PC or Mac?

Thanks!
